Types of Inhaler

475819_42011705Inhalers or devices for inhaling drugs, has changed the treatment of asthma. It allows people with asthma inhalers can deliver medicine directly into the lungs, anytime and anywhere. Over the last few years, it has been developed to mitigate or asthma symptoms.

Basically inhalers can be divided into two types, with the gauge and inhalers with dry powder inhalers.

Inhaler with a gauge
Inhaler with a gauge uses chemical thrusters to push the drug out of the inhaler. These inhalers also use a small pressurized canister containing medication  with the prescribed dose. To use it, there are two things to do. Press the canister down and breathe the drug through a pipe called a spacer. The idea is to combine the drug with the air inhaled slowly into the lungs.

Recognize and Avoid all Triggers of Asthma

This is one of the most important way to control your life for asthma sufferers. The most common triggers are cigarette smoke, dust and pets. Outdoors pollen and the cold air are most frequent to be triggers of asthma attacks.

Perform all the following precautions to reduce asthma triggers and the possibility of an asthma attack:

  • Avoid all types of smoke, including smoke from the fire or burn foliage. Smoke can irritate the eyes, nose and respiratory tract. People with asthma also should not smoke and should not get close to the smokers.
  • Because influenza can be the beginning of a serious asthma attack, do an annual flu vaccination. Wash your hands thoroughly as often as possible in order to avoid cold
  • If you’re allergic to pollen, use the ac and close all windows and doors during the pollen season.
  • Limit the use of eye contact lenses. Instead use the glasses when the pollen season. Because the grains can be trapped  under contact lenses

Asthma is often considered a benign disease, whereas more than 5000 Americans die every year due to asthma. Every year there are also recorded more than 400,000 asthma sufferers treated in the hospital. Even in American there are estimated 17 million people suffer from asthma. Where 4.8 million are children. Asthma is one of a major causes of chronic disease in children.

Asthma is a chronic condition that occurs when the main respiratory lung (bronchi) becomes inflamed. Bronchial wall muscles shrinks and mucous membranes lining the bronchial walls produce more mucus, which causes narrowed airways. The result is fault of breath ranging from mild to severe. This attack may take several minutes to days and days.
